The Fairy God Mother Tree

She is a heavy twinkle and sigh,

cumulonimbus rolling in

as the sun fades goodbye.

Dropping shoulders and twisting jaws,

shrugging a feathered boa right off.

Shimmering diamond light,

smile rainbow bright.

Waves crash upon jagged cliffs,

wind grabbing fistfuls of hair,

tufts of a ruffled skirt as

it rips by, jagged smile

barely breathing in your ear.

The stormy grey of northern jungles

intermingles with coastal mist;

the most sorrowful parties

are the ones at which

we never kissed.

Hurricane of long lost lovers,

call her Fairy God Mother;

there is so much more we know

when we live with our ghost.
